DECLARAÇÃO DE ARTISTA

A minha proposta plástica explora a [i]materialidade e ausência em espaços corporizados em objetos narrativos através da interseção entre artes plásticas e literatura, um terreno concebido como fértil, pantanoso e dúctil.

Na sentida atomização do tempo, interessa-me sublinhar o lugar da narrativa que se imprime e exprime em objetos escultóricos, em espaços, em matérias, em instalações e em livros de artista Proponho, assim, objetos limiarmente poéticos na filigrana do mundo. Na época do imediato, exploro a potencialidade da Linguagem e proponho uma epoché onde os objetos narrativos se espacializam e expressam o inacessível, o ilegível, o invisível, o impossível, o insuficiente e o interdito. Os objetos produzidos evocam o pó, a cor, o tato, o olfato na procura do descentrado, do indefinível, do indecifrável. As imagens escultóricas começam com a vontade de contar uma história e, tal como a voz se dissipa no ar, os objetos eternos, difusos e efémeros, dissipam-se e expandem-se para lá da página branca.

BIO

Born in Viseu in 1990, Filipa Cruz lives and works between Portugal and France. Has a Doctor’s Degree Unanimously Approved with Distinction with the Thesis Everything I wanted to tell you: The undefinition, illegibility, invisibility, and language’s insufficiency in the artistic practice (Faculty of Fine Arts, University of Porto; a Masters in Fine Arts Approved with Distinction (École Nationale Supérieure de Beaux-Arts de Paris); a Post-graduation in Aesthetics (Université Panthéon-Sorbonne); a Higher Degree in Fine Arts-Multimedia (Beaux-Arts de Paris).
Filipa is an artist, researcher, and professor. Since 2012, has held individual and collective exhibitions and participated in numerous international conferences as Speaker. Filipa relates sculpture, installation and literature in a sculptural image that is both eternal and ephemeral.
Won Herberto Hélder’s Guest Scientist Grant (2017), the Artistic Creation’s Grant conceded by the Azorean Government (2016) and a Research Grant by Medeiros e Almeida Foundation.
Filipa is an Integrated Researcher in i2ADS – Research Institute of Art, Design and Society and is a Professor in Paris College of Art (Paris), and in Faculty of Fine Arts, University of Porto (Porto).
